NOTICE FROM WALDEN’S MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICTS

Dear Residents,

Recent record-high temperatures and the absence of rain have contributed to drought conditions that have led to Walden’s Municipal Utility Districts to identify a Mild Water Shortage condition and urge water utility customers to voluntarily comply with the following suggestions.

1. Watering your lawns and landscape late in the evening or early in the morning are the recommended periods. Lawns should be watered when the SUN IS NOT SHINING. The preferred time is after 10:00 p.m. and before 8:00 a.m. Watering during high daytime temperatures will mean a good portion of the water will evaporate prior to providing lawns the moisture they need.

2. Inspect automatic water systems to ensure that there are no leaks, and all irrigation heads are properly functioning, watering only the lawn and not streets or sidewalks.

3. Curtail or discontinue non-essential uses such as washing down sidewalks, driveways, or buildings.

By conserving water now, Walden’s utility districts will hopefully be able to avoid more strict, mandatory watering limitations in the future.
