MONTGOMERY COUNTY MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 8 OF MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TEXAS

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

NOTICE is hereby given that the Board of Directors of Montgomery County Municipal Utility District No. 8 (the “District” or “MUD 8”) of Montgomery County, Texas will meet in regular session, open to the public, on WEDNESDAY, JULY 13, 2022, at 9:00 A.M, at the Walden Yacht Club, 13101 Melville Drive, Montgomery, Texas 77356, at which meeting the following items will be considered and acted upon:

1. Public comments (public comment shall be limited to 3 minutes per member of the public);

2. Approve minutes of June 8, 2022 regular meeting;

3. Tax Assessor/Collector’s Report, including:
a. review collection report; and
b. review Delinquent Tax Report;

4. Bookkeeper’s Report, including:
a. review and approve financial reports;
b. review cash flows; and
c. authorize payment of bills;

5. Review scope of services under the District’s Agreement for Bookkeeping Services with Municipal Accounts & Consulting;

6. Engineer’s Report, including:
a. update on status of construction of Wastewater Treatment Plant (“WWTP”) Improvement Project;
b. update on status of renewal application for TPDES WWTP Discharge Permit;
c. update on status of Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project;
d. update on status of 2022 Lift Station Inspections;
e. update on status of construction of Motor Control Center and Control Building Replacement Project for Poe Street Water Plant;
f. update on status of Motor Control Center and Control Building Replacement Project for Browning Street Water Plant;
g. update on status of review of Safe Harbor Marinas’ design plans for Walden Marina; and
h. update on status of electrical efficiency analysis of water plant facilities;

7. Update on status of landscaping improvements at the WWTP;

8. Operator’s Report, including:
a. review monthly water and wastewater operations;
b. review delinquent accounts; and
c. update on items identified as needing repair during the annual inspection of District’s water plants;

9. Discuss lease of generator for Alternative Water Supply Facilities located at Montgomery County Municipal Utility District No. 9’s (“MUD 9”) Buckingham Water Plant;

10. Status of Water Smart program application, including approval of Resolution Approving Submittal of 2023 Water Smart Application for Inclusion in Association of Water Board Directors Water Smart Partners Program;

11. Update on District’s website and communications services, including update on status of development of joint website with MUD 9;

12. Miscellaneous Reports, including updates on:
a. Walden Community Improvement Association (“WCIA”) meetings;
b. MUD 9 meetings; and
c. Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District meetings;

13. Authorize attendance at Association of Water Board Directors’ Fall Seminar on October 31, 2022 and Mid Winter Conference on January 27-28, 2023;

14. Determine development status of District under Texas Water Code Section 49.23603 for 2022 tax year;
15. Attorney’s Report, including update on status of solid waste collection agreement with WCIA; and

16. Executive Session, as necessary:
a. as may be permitted by Sec. 551.072, Texas Gov’t Code, concerning real estate, security, litigation, or matters involving attorney-client privilege;
b. reconvene in Open Session; and
c. vote on matters discussed in Executive Session, if any.
