NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
NOTIFICACIÓN DE REUNIÓN PÚBLICA

NOTICE is hereby given that the Board of Directors of Montgomery County Municipal Utility District No. 8 (the “District” or “MUD 8”) of Montgomery County, Texas will meet in regular session, open to the public, on WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 10, 2024, at 9:00 A.M., at the Walden Yacht Club, 13101 Melville Drive, Montgomery, Texas 77356, at which meeting the following items will be considered and acted upon:

Por la presente se notifica que la Junta Directiva del Distrito Municipal de Prestación de Servicios Públicos del Condado de Montgomery nro. 8 (el “Distrito” o “MUD 8”) del Condado de Montgomery, Texas llevará a cabo una reunión ordinaria, abierta al público, el MIÉRCOLES, 10 DE ENERO DE 2024, a las 9:00 A.M., en el Walden Yacht Club, 13101 Melville Drive, Montgomery, Texas 77356, para considerar y actuar sobre los siguientes asuntos:

1. Public comments (public comment shall be limited to 3 minutes per member of the public);

2. Minutes of December 13, 2023 regular meeting;

3. Tax Assessor/Collector’s Report, including:
a. collection report; and
b. Delinquent Tax Report;

4. Bookkeeper’s Report, including:
a. financial reports;
b. cash flows; and
c. payment of bills;

5. Annual review of policies related to reimbursements of expenses and fees of office;

6. Engineer’s Report, including:
a. Wastewater Treatment Plant (“WWTP”) Improvement Project;
b. Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project;
c. Storm Sewer Outfall Inspection Project;
d. Lift Station Nos. 5, 6 & 7 Rehabilitation Project; and
e. Annual Water Plant Inspection;

7. Public ceremony for opening of new WWTP;

8. Landscaping improvements at the WWTP;

9. Operator’s Report, including:
a. monthly water and wastewater operations;
b. delinquent accounts;
c. repair of items identified in 2022 Lift Station Inspection Report;
d. Lead Service Line Inventory required by Environmental Protection Agency’s rules regarding lead and copper content in plumbing fixtures;
e. storm sewer outfall repair on Ripplewind Drive;
f. update on information needed for District and Montgomery County Municipal Utility District No. 9 (“MUD 9”) Annual Report to San Jacinto River Authority and City of Houston; and
g. Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District (“LSGCD”) Alternative Water Source Report;

10. Security at the District’s facilities;

11. District’s website and communications services;

12. Miscellaneous Reports, including:
a. Walden Community Improvement Association meetings;
b. MUD 9 meetings; and
c. LSGCD meetings;

13. Attorney’s Report, including:
a. filing of financial and tax-related information with Texas Comptroller pursuant to Texas Local Government Code, Sections 203.062 and 403.0241 for the Special Purpose District Public Information Database; and
b. procedures for the sale of real property owned by the District;

14. Election Agenda:
Orden Del Día Referente a la Elección:
a. update on May 4, 2024 Directors Election matters, and take any necessary actions on same;
actualización sobre los asuntos de la Elección de Directores del 4 de mayo de 2024, y tomar las medidas necesarias al respect;
b. approval of Election Services Agreement and Joint Election Agreement with Montgomery County; and
aprobar Convenio de Servicios Electorales y Convenio de Elecciones Conjuntas con el Condado de Montgomery; y
c. authorize payment to Montgomery County for the joint election, if necessary; and
autorizar el pago al Condado de Montgomery por los costos de la elección conjunta; y

15. Executive Session, as necessary:
a. as may be permitted by Chapter 551, Subchapter D, Texas Gov’t Code, concerning real estate, security, litigation, or matters involving attorney-client privilege;
b. reconvene in Open Session; and
c. vote on matters discussed in Executive Session, if any.
